(Dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience)

 Soham Village College
Soham Village College

Required from September 2017, an enthusiastic teacher of English to join a dynamic and collaborative faculty with a history of outstanding results. This post will be suitable for either newly qualified or more experienced teachers and a TLR 2a may be available for suitable applicants.

The school is oversubscribed and enjoys a considerable reputation in the local area for its academic excellence and caring ethos. In December 2016, Ofsted described the way in which the school promotes students’ personal development and its work to support students as outstanding.

GCSE results in 2016 were strong with both attainment and progress measures placing the school in the top 25% of schools nationally. The progress made by students in English was significantly above average.

There is a strong culture of teaching and learning in the school and staff value highly the continuing professional development and research opportunities available. Ofsted praised the “good opportunities for staff to develop professionally” and commented that “staff are highly positive about the training they receive.” In addition they reported that “newly qualified teachers speak effusively about the support they receive.”

There are varied opportunities for career progression for staff at all levels.

Closing date for applications is 9.00am, Monday 24 April 2017.  We would, however, welcome early applications.
